ABSTRACT :
Albinism is a rare genetic disorder affecting melanin synthesis, with consequences for skin and eyes, and potential implications for oral health. This review synthesizes the existing literature on oral microbiota, dental anomalies, and clinical manifestations associated with albinism. Evidence suggests that most patients exhibit oral health comparable to the general population; however, isolated cases indicate that genetic factors may modulate susceptibility to oral dysbiosis and dental diseases. Direct microbiological studies are limited, highlighting the need for further investigations to elucidate host–microbiome interactions. This review provides an integrated synthesis of clinical and genetic evidence and emphasizes biological insights and clinical implications for prevention and management. Keywords: albinism, dental anomalies, oral microbiome, genetic disorders
