ABSTRACT :

Fipronil, a commonly used insecticide, has attracted increasing interest in the neuroecotoxicological research due to its potential impact on the nervous system of non-target organisms. Recent studies highlight the neurotoxic effects of fipronil, which include behavioral changes, cognitive dysfunction, and impaired neuronal development in various species, including fish and insects. Fipronil has also been associated with endocrine disruption, which raises concerns about its safety in the environment. Analysis of fipronil’s interactions with environmental factors, such as chemical contaminants and ecological conditions, suggests an increased complexity of its neurotoxic effects. This review explores modern issues related to the relevance of fipronil in neuroecotoxic studies, highlighting the need for more rigorous assessments and stricter regulations for its use, given the potential risks to public health and biodiversity.
